ONCE AGAIN - THE NEW IS THE WELL–FORGOTTEN OLD
Ernst Jünger was a typical Renaissance man who somehow appeared in the XX century. Sportsman, scientist, bohemian, philosopher, traveler, novelist turned out to be, in addition, a perfect warrior with a steel core of his own principles of fate, honor and duty. It is not surprising that even a short review written a hundred years ago, on German Infantry Training Manual of 1922, written basing on lessons of the Great War, contains an indescribable fusion of personal and collective experience, subtle psychological remarks, innovative vision, skillful combination of theory and practice, processed by a natural-born officer.
