ON ELEMENTS OF THE WAR
Strategy, operatics and tactics
We bring to your attention the seventh chapter (unabridged) "Strategy, operactics and tactics" of the section "On the Elements of the War" of the monograph "Philosophy of War" by the talented military scientist and historian A.A. Kersnovsky.
In general, the work of A. Kersnovsky "Philosophy of War" significantly expands the scope of military science, serves as an excellent example for the study of wars, for important generalizations and conclusions. It convincingly shows that war is not only military domain - peoples and countries also participate in wars. "The military organism represents an analogy with the national organism. War is the same policy. The army is the same nation." In military matters, politicians should listen to military strategists and take their opinions into account when making decisions, and strategists should have the courage to tell politicians only the truth, whatever it may be.
Analyzing the actions of the First World War, Kersnovsky pointed out that "Strategy does not allow you to mock yourself with impunity," and when "the political body of a country - its government" - ignores the opinion of military experts, military failures and strategic disasters are inevitable.
